David Cook at Ion Orachard, Singapore

By 6:30 pm, there was already a sizeable crowd gathering by the stage, most of them waiting for David Cook to perform.   David Cook was a past winner of the American Idol.

David Cook was part of  shopping mall ION Orchard's 3rd anniversary celebration activities.  For some reasons, if not for my chanced visit to a bookstore few days back at ION, I would have missed his performance.

We had to wait for a while before he came on.  First, an opening act by a local group that performs covered versions of pop hits.  Unfortunately, I could not get their names.

Then, there was a fashion parade featuring the house brands at ION.

And finally, at around 8 pm, David Cook and his accompanying musician Andy came on stage.

He jokingly thanked everyone for voting for him, knowing that this part of the audience would not be able to do so.

He played a mix of his and other hit songs, including Prince's Purple Rain.

David Cook was surprisingly chatty and funny guy.  It was good to see another side of him, apart from what we saw on the American Idol franchise.

It was a solid performance, simple but effective.  And hope that he would have a long career as a performer.
